My little baby is finally a big girl and ready for potty training!  It is going pretty well so far, I’m optimistic!  But I won’t go into those details here, mostly I wanted to share this little chart I made to help the process along.

After I realized Pen was ready, I sat her on my lap at the computer, and we came up with this chart together in about 10 minutes (through out the drawing process, she made several requests for me to draw snowmen and daddy) printed it out and let her color it with crayons.  I wanted her to be involved in the design process with this one especially so it would feel very personal to her.  She added her input as we went along (requesting I draw her elephant undies) and she wanted a donut as a prize.  She also got really excited as soon as she realized I was drawing a toilet.  I was grateful for her enthusiasm. (Don’t make fun at it’s sloppiness.  We literally pulled this together in 10 minutes, I didn’t have time to fuss with the details.)  As she has successes through out the day, she gets to choose a sticker to put on a toilet.  She already has 5 stickers!

I also took a few minutes to make a colored version, just in case.

I’m interested to see what other little charts we’ll design together Pen gets older.  Maybe this is the answer to rid ourselves of those blasted binkies!
