Here’s a piece that I started yesterday.  Sometimes before I do my commission work, I need to get the creative juices flowing, so I try and do something that I want to do.  One reason why I love art, is that I am able to create images of things that otherwise may have never been captured.  Of course, someone could easily take a picture of Penny and me “making” as she calls it, but there are other moments in life that I enjoy sketching out that would otherwise be lost with time.

Anyway, this art is a portrayal of Penny’s favorite way to pass the time.  She wants to help make whatever I’m making.  She loves it best when we make bread, and takes little nibbles of the dough here and there.  If I were to do this all over again , I may change her to be a profile vs. straight on, as she looks a little static.  That’s one thing I definitely need to work on, adding more life and movement to my drawings.  There are several other things I’d like to do different, but I can’t keep nitpicking or else I’d spend literally all day planted in this chair.

It’s a start, for sure.  I have ever so much to learn about digital painting, and these exploration activities is definitely helping he get there.
